Awareness work can focus on speaking engagements, workshops, trainings, social and internet networking, posting flyers, hosting special events and other creative efforts to get the word out concerning the men, women and children today who are exploited.

Outreach and Support to Special Immigrants Population (OSSIP) is a comprehensive assistance program for foreign-born survivors of human trafficking supported by Catholic Charities in Oregon.  OSSIP provides intensive case management and legal services to survivors of human trafficking, to aid survivors in successfully navigating all aspects of the U.S. legal and social services system, with the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment for the survivor.

Union Gospel Mission was founded in 1927 when 40 area churches came together seeking to minister to the homeless on the streets of Portland. From that beginning, Union Gospel Mission has been serving the homeless, the hopeless and those in need consistently since that first chapel service in 1928. Union Gospel Mission is home to "LifeChange," an innovative addiction recovery community serving men and women. Union Gospel Mission serves more than 170,000 meals annually to those in need and provides clothing, referrals, and spiritual support to people in need in the Portland area.
