Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT)

About the Organization

When truck drivers break at a rest stop, they're often confronted by young girls working in the sex trade - a trend this human rights campaign hopes to combat. To educate drivers on how to protect these girls, and potentially liberate them from being trafficked, Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) has launched a campaign to fight this injustice.

The TAT website was created to inform truckers and other travelers of the basic issues involved in human trafficking and to summarize ways to help. They have several initiatives to help truckers fight against trafficking. To see a comprehensive list with descriptions click here.

How You Can Help

For drivers/truckers: Get trained in our certification program. This includes a wallet card about TAT. Keep and hand out the wallet card, talk to the safety director about showing the TAT training video at driver orientation and continuing education, spread the word about TAT and the available hotline to your relevant connections.

For everyone else: Spread the word about TAT among truckers you know, make a donation, contact TAT by email if interested in putting together a group of volunteers for a truck stop awareness event, or raise awareness of TAT.
