About the Organization
Shared Hope International (SHI) exists to prevent, rescue and restore women and children in crisis. They also focus on bringing justice through legal and political reform against trafficking and have expertise in restoring women and children worldwide. They are also leaders in a worldwide effort to prevent and eradicate sex trafficking and slavery through education and public awareness.
- Awareness and Prevention: SHI's prevention programs examine the conditions that allow women and children to be bought and sold and document the marketplaces of victimization around the world. SHI strives to enhance awareness of modern-day sexual slavery. They also share their resources and expertise to enhance collaboration to combat sex trafficking.
- Bring Justice: SHI is working in a number of states to support the development of targeted laws. They also advocate for these laws in others states and nationally. SHI also works to form partnerships that will allow access to services for survivors. In addition, they bring justice by conducting continuous research for anti-sex trafficking.
- Rescue: SHI's rescue programs are integrated into the work of local restoration centers. Through these partnerships, they are able to successfully remove women and children from sexual exploitation.
- Shelter and Aftercare: SHI's restoration programs are developed and operated by local partners, addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of each victim. Restoration services include residential facilities, medical and mental health care, education, job training and economic development programs.
