About the Organization
AWARE’s mission is to empower teens by equipping them with knowledge and strategies for healthy life choices related to sexual activity.
AWARE is a non-profit organization that has provided education for the past 14 years. AWARE programs provide tools for healthy relationships, addressing issues like goal-setting, character, maturity, consequences of early sexual involvement, substance abuse, violence, pornography prevention, and most recently a program that provides awareness regarding Child Sex Trafficking in our communities. AWARE speaks to 15,000 students each year with the goal of empowering teens to make positive choices that support their life goals. AWARE also conducts parent workshops to help parents build relationship with their teens which allows teens to open up communications and talk about sensitive topics that often parents are reluctant to talk about with their teens.
How You Can Help
All of our programs are done through volunteer speakers from our community. If you have a heart for youth and desire to facilitate classroom discussions, we are always in need of more speakers. We also are open to folks interested in hosted parent workshops in their homes. We can use volunteer help for office duties, mailings, projects, fund-raising.
