Our kids are now digital natives, meaning they know nothing but life with Internet, cell phones, smart phones, streaming TV, and the list goes on. Never before have we had to navigate the waters of the mobile Internet as parents and grandparents do now. Some of you may ask, “What is the big deal?” The answers might surprise you.
- Nearly 80% of unwanted exposure to pornography takes place at to the home.
- The average age of first exposure of pornography is 8 years old.
- Addiction happens fast and its effects on the brain are similar effects on the brain of a drug addict.
We as a church recognize this reality and will be hosting a seminar for parents, grandparents, teachers, and anyone who cares for the wellbeing of our youth on Monday, April 18that Good Shepherd Community Church from7 – 8:30pm.
Officer John Rasmussen will start the dialog that will hopefully flow into your own family regarding how to be “wise as serpents and innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16) when it comes to the mobile Internet. Don’t miss it!
This seminar is open to all so invite your friends (parents, grandparents, anyone that you think will benefit from this information) from other schools and churches. No sign up necessary. If you have questions about the seminar you can contact Jenny Glover at[email protected]
