Strike! Rise! Dance! One Billion Rising PDX is part of a global call to action to end violence against women and girls by coming together, taking a stand, and dancing in solidarity. Across the world, one in three women will be directly impacted by violence or abuse in her lifetime, which translates to ONE BILLION WOMEN. One billion women violated is an atrocity, but One Billion Rising is a Revolution! Through this movement, our community is voicing its commitment to end violence against women and girls and to unite around love and respect for all.
Gather at Director’s Park (SW Park and 9th) for Rally, Dance, and March. The March will lead to the Python Building (918 SW Yamhill) for food, dancing, speakers, workshops and tables hosted by groups working to end violence and more.
All ages and abilities welcome and every person counts! Dress for the weather, gather friends, family and co-workers to bring hope and strength to One Billion Women across the planet.
