OATH is reaching out to businesses to help prevent human trafficking by providing free awareness training.
Much of human trafficking occurs in legitimate businesses. By educating yourself about how businesses are affected, you can help prevent your business from unknowingly participating in trafficking. You can also provide tips to first responders when you have trained eyes.
Why should your business care?
Awareness is good for business. Oregonians are conscientious consumers. As our community becomes increasingly aware of human trafficking in Oregon, customers will support businesses that ally themselves with anti-trafficking efforts.
Don’t be a target. Know what to look for and traffickers will go somewhere else.
Simply to help stop this tragic crime. With just a little knowledge your business can actively help stop the trafficking of humans in Oregon.
Speakers include Keith Bickford, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Detective, Director of the Oregon Human Trafficking Task Force; and Chris Killmer, Immigration Counseling Services Program Manager, Anti-Trafficking Division.
