This conference is designed to help counselors gain an understanding of the dynamics of sex trafficking, as well as the complex nature of the trauma sex trafficking survivors experience. Attendees will learn about current trafficking terminology and culture, and how sexual exploitation affects their local community. They will hear a survivor speak directly about her experience, and learn specific treatment strategies from one of the leading experts in trauma informed care for survivors. The conference will conclude with a Q&A panel that will include the speakers as well as representatives from local law enforcement and the judicial system who will add their perspective regarding survivor care.
